Cinzia Pagni and Deputy Minister Marina Sereni together for human rights
A meeting was held at the Farnesina between Cinzia Pagni, president of ASeS and Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Marina Sereni to explain to her the many ongoing activities and projects of ASeS in the world. It was also an opportunity to discuss possible future initiatives to be put in place to strengthen the protection of human rights by bringing development to the most fragile countries, especially in North Africa.
“I believe,” President Pagni commented, “that NGOs can and should play a very important role in those countries: the devastating economic consequences of Covid are increasing migratory pressure in Europe. It is urgent to multiply efforts to bring effective and lasting development models to those territories.”
