L’engagement communautaire, l’intrant principal

Le projet ” Social Business et Développement Innovant de la Filière Agro-industrielle de la région de Thiès” (SB-AGROIN) est un projet triennal (2019-2022) qui a démarré au Sénégal en novembre 2019. Il est mis en œuvre par Agriculteurs, Solidarité et Développement (ASeS) en partenariat avec l’ONG Green Sénégal, l’association Jëf, l’Institut Sénégalais de Recherche Agricole (ISRA), ARCS- Arci Culture Solidali, ARCO-PIN S.c.r.l. (Services Didactiques et Scientifiques pour l’Université de Florence), Global Impact Network et l’Association des Organisations Italiennes de Coopération et de Solidarité internationale – AOI.
Le projet SB-AGROIN est financé par l’Agence Italienne pour la Coopération au Développement (AICS).
C’est un projet ambitieux qui mise sur l’engagement des communautés. Pour renforcer cet engagement communautaire, ASeS et l’ensemble des partenaires du projet, ont initié des séries de rencontres d’informations et de partage dans les six villages cibles du projet (cinq dans la Commune de Keur Moussa et un dans la Commune de Pout). A travers ces rencontres interactives avec les populations bénéficiaires, les experts et animateurs du projet, ont insisté particulièrement sur l’engagement communautaire pour l’atteinte des objectifs fixés par le projet. A cette occasion, les responsables ou experts des partenaires du projet tels que Green Sénégal, Jëf et ISRA, ont invité les populations à s’engager dans la solidarité pour la réussite du projet. Selon eux, les cinq piliers du projet SB-AGROIN sont : la gouvernance, la solidarité, l’économie, la mise en réseau et l’autonomie.
Il est vrai que ces cinq piliers sont plus que déterminant pour la réussite d’un projet mais il faut reconnaitre que sans engagement rien de solide ne peut se construire et cela dans tous les secteurs de la vie économique. C’est pourquoi, les habitants des six villages bénéficiaires ont tous salué la pertinence du projet et se sont engagés à ne ménager aucun effort pour la réussite de celui-ci.
En réalité, le projet SB-AGROIN prévoit d’installer six champs communautaires dans les villages cibles du projet. Même si la partie technique est assurée par les experts du projet, il est à noter que la réussite, le rendement et la qualité des récoles ne dépendent que de l’engagement des populations bénéficiaires.

Le CVD de Touly, un modèle d’engagement communautaire
Cet engagement communautaire se manifeste particulièrement à Touly, un village de la Commune de Keur Moussa qui fait partie des six villages d’intervention du projet.
La particularité de Touly, c’est l’existence d’un Comité Villageois de Développement (CVD), dynamique composé de toutes les forces vives du village. Le champ communautaire de Touly a été délibéré au nom CVD. Ce qui témoigne de la vitalité et de la fonctionnalité de cette organisation composée pour l’essentiel de jeunes et de femmes engagés pour le développement de leur communauté.
C’est pourquoi, la Coordination du projet SB-AGROIN compte mobiliser toute cette énergie positive, en faisant de l’engagement communautaire un intrant principal pour la réussite du projet.

THIES REGION’S SOCIAL BUSINESS AND INNOVATIVE AGRIBUSINESS DEVELOPMENT PROJECT (SB-AGROIN)

Involve the whole community-that is the main goal.

The project “Social Business and Innovative Agribusiness Development in the Thiès Region” (SB-AGROIN) is a three-year project (2019-2022) launched in Senegal in November 2019 coordinated by ASeS Farmers, Solidarity and Development (ASeS) in collaboration with the NGO Green Senegal, Jëf Association, the Senegalese Institute for Agricultural Research (ISRA), ARCS- Arci Culture Solidali, ARCO-PIN Scrl (Educational and Scientific Services for the University of Florence), Global Impact Network and the Association of Italian Organizations for International Cooperation and Solidarity – AOI. The SB-AGROIN project is funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS). The purpose of this project is to involve the entire community.
To support this community effort, ASeS and all partners have therefore initiated a series of information and sharing meetings in the six villages that will be part of the project (five in Keur Moussa Municipality and one in Pout Municipality. ). Through these interactive meetings with the population, the project experts and facilitators worked to engage communities directly in order to achieve their goals. During these moments, the organizers, joined by Green Senegal, Jëf and ISRA technicians, invited the population to actively engage in order to make the goals of the initiative a reality. Five strengths underlie the SB-AGROIN project: governance, solidarity, economy, networking and autonomy.
While it is true that these five pillars are crucial to the success of a project, it is also true that without sustained efforts, nothing solid will be built for the various local economic sectors. The inhabitants of the six beneficiary villages appreciated the goals of the project and pledged to spare no effort for its success.
The SB-AGROIN project also plans to install six community camps in the project’s target villages. Although the technical part is provided by the project experts, it should be noted that the success, yield and quality of the crops will depend only on the commitment of the beneficiary populations.

Touly’s CVD, a model of community engagement
An example of this community intervention is manifesting itself in Touly, a village in Keur Moussa Municipality , one of the project’s six intervention villages.
What is special about Touly is the existence of a dynamic Rural Development Committee (CVD), composed of all active forces in the village. The community camp in Touly was deliberated in the name of CVD, and this testifies to the vitality and functionality of this organization composed mainly of young people and women committed to the development of their community. The SB-AGROIN Project Coordination therefore intends to mobilize all this willingness of the population , making community engagement an essential factor for the success of the project.
