As part of the global donation received from the European Union, a project to implement beekeeping-related activities was carried out in Nueva Mestre. Technicians on loan from the Paraguayan Ministry of Agriculture were used to provide vocational training to the local population, which showed strong interest in this type of productive activity.
With the purchase of beehives and the qualification, it was thus possible to give a more rational and efficient form to an activity, such as the collection of sylvan honey, which is very widespread in this area of Paraguay.
