The project was aimed at supplying the second and third urban-rural cores of Nueva Mestre with water through pipes that, starting from the reservoirs built to collect rainwater (since groundwater is brackish), reach the urban cores. This saves families frequent trips of 800/1,000 meters with jerry cans and bottles to replenish their fresh water supply and also allows, thanks to the high deposits into which the water from the reservoirs flows, chlorine treatments to be implemented to improve its quality.
