The project aimed to support the work of the Ombudsman in his duties as:

Report to the Contraloria General de la Republica the irregularities committed by state institutions operating in the region;

Report to ordinary justice and the executive branch any crimes committed against state property;

Conduct civic trainings and citizen awareness meetings regarding their rights/duties;

Investigate complaints filed for human rights violations and, in cases of proven violation, file public complaints.
